I am a creative, a television producer, so planning comes naturally and is kind of in my DNA. But the last few months have made me realize I am not doing enough to plan for personal catastrophes or regional catastrophes. This whole pandemic has really been an eye opener for me. And frankly makes me feel very uneasy.
Let me be clear, I am not a doomsday prepper or trying to navigate what the end of the world will look like. I just want my family to be safe if our bubble is not.
I wish I could say I have been going to the store every day and slowly stockpiling but the reality is I have two elementary school age kids, a career, and I play competitive tennis (A LOT!!! Don’t ask my husband about it he will roll his eyes) So bottom line I don’t have a ton of time or money to purchase everything I need. Oh, did I mention that besides the obvious like water, disinfectants, and canned food I really have no idea what I need and how long we could live off of it if necessary.
I mean who would have thought toilet paper and paper towels would be such a hot commodity? Not me, truth be told. So now I am feeling like I need to get going before the next wave hits and the pandemic could really shut us down again.
Time to start prepping. I may be behind the eight ball but better late than never.
